Anime That Never Gets Old

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 14 of the Anime Challenge! Today’s Topic is: Anime that never gets old no matter how many times you re-watch it!

Honestly, a lot of anime that I enjoy I don’t like to re-watch often due to those feels. When I watch something I don’t mind if it makes me cry, but often times I want to relax.

One anime that I can watch over and over (and notice something new each time) is Lucky Star! I love an easy going, slice of life series!

I love the simplicity of Lucky Star as well as the bonds that the friends have. The anime is full of humor and references to other games, anime and manga. I like to go back and re-watch Lucky Star every year or so after I’ve seen and read more and can catch other references.

Izumi Konata reminds me so much of myself. I ALWAYS put off studying and homework (don’t do that).

Lucky Star is just a super fun and easy to relate to anime in my opinion. There’s so much basic life randomness to it.

What’s an anime you can watch over and over?

Anime Character You’re Most Similar To

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 13 of the Anime Challenge! Today’s topic is: Anime character you’re most similar to!

I think this one is a really fun one! I would say I’m a mix between two anime characters. It’s funny though because those characters have completely different personalities.

**This post may contain affiliate links. You can find the disclosure policy here.**

When it comes to certain people, close friends and my husband, I would say I’m more tsundere and the tsundere character I feel that I relate to the most is Aisaka Taiga from Toradora!

Taiga and I have a lot in common because I also don’t take compliments well and I can get very defensive easily. I also love food but can’t cook well. 😅

The other character I feel that I am most similar to is Kamikita Komari from Little Busters!

No good person likes to see someone feel down. I always do my best to try to make it better for them in any way. Personally, I feel that if you always smile at people, you could make their day and not even know it.

If I’m having a bad day and someone takes just a moment to notice me and to smile at me it makes my day brighter.

Another thing that makes me similar to Komari is our love of sweets! I could seriously just eat candy, cakes, and donuts all day, every day!

Komari is also a bit clumsy and silly and I’m super clumsy and I try to be silly so that everyone around me can have fun.

Do you have any characters you feel that you are similar to?

Saddest Anime Scene

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 12 of the Anime Challenge! Today’s topic is: Saddest Anime Scene! ….wait, what? 😟 Just one!? There is every anime by Key to consider and then some!

This post will ABSOLUTELY HAVE SPOILERS!!

As I sit here, looking at this page, I’m going through every sad anime scene I have ever seen and trying to decide which one made me cry the hardest and which one affected me the most.

….This is hard…I cry easily… T_T

I would say one of the saddest scenes I’ve seen is from Plastic Memories. The whole idea of that one is sad, however, there are those few scenes that can hit you like a truck.

This scene actually hit me so hard that I stopped watching it for a while.

Prepare yourself for some feels.

What anime have you seen that you would say has the saddest scene?

Favorite Mech Anime

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 11 of the Anime Challenge! Today’s topic is: Favorite Mech Anime!

So, I’ve only recently started branching out the genres of anime to watch. I’ve only ever seen one mech anime and it was a long time ago, but I loved it!

The Big O!

**This post may contain affiliate links. You can find the disclosure policy here.**

Roger Smith works together with an android, R. Dorothy Wayneright as a negotiator in Paradigm City. Paradigm City’s residents lost their memories 40 years prior and is now run by a massive corporation. When necessary, Roger Smith calls upon ‘The Big O’.

It’s honestly been so long since I’ve seen it, but if I had to quickly describe it to someone, I would say it’s like a Batman anime except Batman has cute android and a giant mech.

I’m totally going to go watch this one again!

What is your favorite mech anime?

Net Neutrality (It’s a Big F–ing Deal!)

Hi, hi! First off, for my post today, I would like to say that I’m not usually political unless it’s around very close friends and family. However, with the United States FCC (Federal Communications Commission) upcoming plan to end Net Neutrality, which goes up for FCC vote in early December, I feel this post is very important. If this were to pass, it would affect not only the United States of America but every other country as well.

Net Neutrality

What is it?

Net Neutrality means that ISPs (Internet Service Provider) and the governments have to regulate most of the internet without discrimination. This also means that they are not allowed to specifically charge users different rates for accessing content, websites, platforms, applications, means of communication, etc. So, ISPs are not allowed to block, slow down or charge money for access to specific websites and content.

There have been many instances of providers being caught restricting users access to things like that company’s rivals and throttling, which means it was being slowed, when users tried to use things like Netflix and YouTube.

What Getting Rid of Net Neutrality Means

The possibility of losing Net Neutrality means that ISPs would have the ability legally to block any websites or content that they don’t want their users to have access to, it would hurt competition because content and applications advertising an ISPs rival can easily be blocked, and the internet could even be split up into packages much like television packages. Basically, pay to access specific sites.

Why It Should Matter To You

Internet Service Providers could potentially be able to do all of the above which would already hurt competitors of companies, but when you really dig down and think about it, it can do so much worse.

Let’s toss aside the whole “internet packages” idea for a moment and just focus on ISPs blocking ability. Let’s say you’ve got an important paper due for University and you have already picked your topic but you need some info that you can only access online. If it’s something controversial or something your ISP doesn’t like, you won’t be able to access it.

Hurting students isn’t an arguement for keeping Net Neutrality that I’ve seen yet but just looking at all of the powers that this could potentially give ISPs, it seems very realistic.

Going back to the “internet packages” idea, another issue I foresee is that it would absolutely crush people who run any kind of business online. Take for instance; you work at a job, it’s enough to pay your bills but you can only afford one internet package and you opt to go with one that, say, lets you communicate with your family and friends but doesn’t include something like Etsy. Those people running things like Etsy shops would be out of a job quickly.

There’s already an unemployment issue in the United States. It’s gone down a lot in recent years, but take away the ability for people to be able to reach out and sell their products to anyone in the world and so many people would be out of a job. That idea doesn’t even apply solely to the US. I’ve seen many UK run Etsy shops while browsing the site. Take away their business from many Americans and those people have also lost out on income that they’ve worked hard for.

That’s just a smaller portion of it. Eventually it would start to affect singers and actors/actresses as well for the same reasons. People would stop listening to music because the streams would be slow or blocked and people would stop watching a lot of television and movies because things like Netflix would be throttled.

If an ISP is able to block things they dislike, that easily opens the pathway for companies to exercise an agenda and become a lot more involved and more manipulative politically than they already are.

The most important reason why it matters, however, is that it scraps the United States First Amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Restricting access to online content throws out freedom of speech and freedom of the press because if an ISP doesn’t like it, they just block it. It’s as  simple as that. With the US being a country that thrives of patriotism and being a “free country”, allowing something like this to happen would quickly make this country oppressed.

Ways in which this could be used to infringe upon first amendment rights specifically could include things like allowing the government to control and silence political activism in non-violent ways. They would be able to do it quietly, behind closed doors with no one there to record what is going on. Even if someone were to do that, they could just block that as well.

It could be used to allow politicians with more power and money to hide the websites and articles that are pro their opponent as well as allowing them to be able to just hide any viewpoints or opinion articles that they don’t like or agree with.

There is already a monopoly on internet services as it is. In many places you can be limited to just a few choices and sometimes there is only one option for an ISP. Letting them have even more power would just be ludicrous.

What Can I Do About it?

Over and over I’ve heard:

I don’t need to vote. My vote doesn’t matter.

I don’t need to contact my representative, they don’t care anyway.

But here’s the thing, whether or not they care about a person or a person’s ideals specifically, they all care about THE VOTES! If a representative gets enough calls or emails telling them that the people they’re representing do not want them to get rid of Net Neutrality, they’re eventually going to listen because they want to keep their position. Piss enough people off and you get voted out.

This not only applies to your representatives but to organizations as well. If they are nagged enough they know that people are willing to fight back and it could also potentially compromise an organization or company’s ability to gain assistance or get what they want passed through congress.

So, what you can do as an American to stop this is to rally, spread the word, make phone calls or send emails to your representatives. Educate your friends and family on the issues and encourage them to do the same.

What you can do as a non-American is spread the word on social media, it will make its way to where it needs to be seen, if you have friends in America, show your concern and encourage them to contact their representatives.

If Net Neutrality gets voted out and these ideas are implemented, I could potentially lose contact with many of my overseas friends and that is NOT OKAY!

You can voice your opinion to the FCC at this number: 888-225-5322. So please, if you care about anything online like bloggers, youtubers, social media, your favorite artist, etc. Please take just a few minutes out of your day to make a call or send an e-mail. Thank you so much for sticking through this long post! If we all work together, we can save Net Neutrality!

Favorite Fighter Anime

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 10 of the Anime Challenge! (I’m a bit behind, sorry. 😓) Today’s topic is: Favorite Fighter Anime!

This is another one of those genres that I don’t watch regularly. I mean, I’ve seen parts of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach, Naruto, etc. But it’s not really a genre that I’ve sat down and watched an entire series from start to finish.  However, I have watched the first season of an anime I would consider to be a fighter or fighting anime that I did enjoy quite a bit and that’s ‘My Hero Academia‘ or ‘Boku no Hero Academia

**This post may contain affiliate links. You can find the disclosure policy here.**

This is not an anime I would have ever picked up on my own to be completely honest. One of my friends asked me every single day if I had seen ‘My Hero Academia‘ yet. 😐 I finally decided to sit down and watch the first season.

I will say that at the beginning and even after completing the first season, I don’t care much for the main character, Izuku Midoriya (Deku). He’s really whiny and cries a lot which made it a bit difficult for me to get through the first few episodes.

However, once I was introduced to other characters in the series I began to enjoy it much more. I won’t go into too much detail because I don’t want to spoil the other few seasons for myself and I’m also working on a review post for the series.

What I will say is: Pls protec this precious cinnamon roll

Have you seen ‘My Hero Academia‘? If so what did you think? If not, are you planning to watch it?

Best Anime Villain

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 9 of the anime challenge! Today’s topic is: Best Anime Villain!

You know, I don’t actually watch a whole lot of anime that would have a villain. There’s always an antagonist but that doesn’t really mean villain. The only villain that comes to mind when I think of anime that I’ve seen is:

Kyubey has got to be the most deceitful little shit I’ve ever seen. It looks so adorable but I should have known better. I mean, does it have two sets of ears!? That’s deceitful in itself. 😐

I’ve seen some arguments that say Kyubey did nothing wrong, but I highly disagree. The incubators prey on little girls to make contracts without telling them all of the terms within the contract. That’s not legally binding! 😓

They look so cute and innocent though. It’s such a shame that they are such good manipulators and eventually slip up and show that they really are the bad guys.

I mean, I guess they aren’t bad in the sense that they are just trying to keep their species alive, but deceiving little girls is a horrible way to do it. I’m sure there are plenty of them that would still have accepted the contract knowing everything that could happen just for that one wish.

I think what disappoints me the most is that some of the characters are okay with what Kyubey did. Like Mami and Madoka. I think Mami just didn’t want to lose her head over it.

…Sorry. I had to throw a Mami joke in there.

Who is your favorite villain or who do you think is the best villain? Let me know here or on facebook!

Favorite Anime Couple

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 8 of the anime challenge! Today’s topic is: Favorite Anime Couple!

Luckily there aren’t too many anime couples out there that I’m a huge fan of. Most of the anime I’ve been watching lately doesn’t even have love interests. So that makes this one pretty easy! My favorite anime couple is Shizuku Mizutani and Haru Yoshida from My Little Monster!

**This post may contain affiliate links. You can find the disclosure policy here.**

Their relationship isn’t what most people would expect. Shizuku typically stays to herself and focuses on her studies and Haru is known for being violent and never attending school. However, after Shizuku delivers Haru’s homework to him one day Haru quickly becomes attached to Shizuku.

Shizuku doesn’t immediately have the same feelings for Haru but you get to watch both of them grow and open up, not only to each other, but to others as well.

This one is pretty short but I  think they did a very nice job of fitting in all of the character growth as well as getting in a good story.

Source

The only issue I had with this anime was a bit of a cliffhanger ending. It does leave plenty of room for the viewer to make their own assumptions as to what happens and I suppose opened the door for tons of fanfic. However, I’d still prefer an ending episode that ties things up a little. Oh well 😕

Either way, I still think they make an adorable couple!

Doki Doki Crate

Hi, hi! I recently ordered a Doki Doki Crate from Japancrate.com. This wasn’t the first crate I’d ordered from them. Back in December I’d ordered their special Christmas crate which included a Japan Crate which is filled with Japanese snacks, a few things from the Doki Doki Crate (cute/kawaii items) and the Kira Kira Crate (beauty products). I believe it had a few things from the Umai Crate as well which is all about the noodles!

Anyway, I got an email for $5 off so I said ‘why not?’

**This post may contain affiliate links. You can find the disclosure policy here.**

Oh man, when I received it the first thing I noticed was that it was packed so full the top of it was bulging! That got me super hyped!

Fun Fact: Kumamon is the mascot for Kumamoto Prefecture

This cute little Kumamon pitcher was the first thing I saw. I am so thankful for it too as I had just recently decided that I needed to drink so much more water and now I can keep this right next to me at my desk! It even goes perfectly with this next item…

Next up was this absolutely adorable strawberry shaped tea infuser! YES! I actually recently bought a bunch of teas and this will make my life so much easier! <3 I mean come on, if you love tea, you’d want a super cute infuser, right?

Okay, I couldn’t help myself after those two items. I had to reach in and see how adorable this blanket was going to be. According to the booklet that comes with the crate it was going to be 1 of 6 different animals: owl, panda, frog, duck, llama and sheep. I got the sheep…I think xD Either way, it’s still super soft, super warm and super kawaii!

After that were these two super cute Kumamon micro fiber towels. They’re both the same, just one is outlined in blue and the other in pink. 🙂 I’m not sure if I’ll actually use these because they’re really cute and I’d hate to get them dirty 🙁

How cute is this Hoppe-chan at home key chain!? I’m always looking for more key chains to add to my key ring and I think this will fit in perfectly with all of my others!

Okay, so one of the main reasons I ordered this was because I saw there was supposed to be a Kiki’s Delivery Service item in the box and I have to admit, this is an adorable toothbrush but I was a bit disappointed when that was the item. 😦

The last item was this super cute Hello Kitty toothbrush holder! I am absolutely using this one! I’ve been looking for a good replacement for mine and haven’t been able to find any I like so this was just perfect!

Based upon this, I was very satisfied with what I received and kept my subscription for October! I’m hoping it will be filled with lots of super cute Halloween goodies!

Do you guys get any subscription boxes? If so, which ones? If not, which ones would you ever want to try? Let me know here or on facebook! Thanks for reading!
