In no particular order, some of the anime I want to see but haven’t yet are:

  1. Ef- A Tale of Memories/Ef-A Tale of Melodies

I don’t know too much about these at all but I do think the art style is absolutely gorgeous! <3
  2. Konosuba
This one has been recommended to me by a friend and I really want to watch it but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. 🙁
Just from what I’m seeing, I think she’ll be my favorite. :3

    She’s super cute too though!
  3. K-ON!

I actually started this one a while back but the disc was messed up. I’d really like to go back to it soon. It looks super cute and innocent.
  4. Cowboy Bebop

I actually cannot believe I haven’t seen this one yet. It looks like something I’d love in all honesty.
  5. Azumanga Daioh

I’ve seen so many clips from this one and I’ve also heard it’s a fantastic slice of life anime and with that being my favorite genre of anime, I think I’ll absolutely need to sit down and watch this one soon.

Those are just a few of the anime that are toward the top of my ‘to watch’ list. Would you recommend any of these? And what anime do you really want to watch but haven’t yet? Let me know here or on facebook! Thanks for reading!

Anime I’m Ashamed I’ve Enjoyed

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 5 of the anime challenge! Today’s topic is: Anime You’re Ashamed You Enjoyed.

Okay, so, in all honesty, I cannot think of an anime that I can say I’m ashamed to have watched. HOWEVER, I can say there is a manga series that I’ve read that I would not normally go around telling everyone that I’ve read so I’ll go with that.

That manga would be: After School Nightmare.

It was written by Setona Mizushiro and originally published in Princess magazine.

SPOILERS AHEAD

The main reason I hadn’t gone around telling anyone that I’d read it was because I read it when I was in 9th or 10th grade and it’s…interesting.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read it, but from what I remember it’s about a character, Mashiro Ichijo, who is neither male nor female. Everyone assumes Mashiro is a male, however, what people do not know is that while Mashiro has the upper body of a male, he has the lower body of a female.

The manga is about Mashiro’s journey in a dream world in which the goal of graduation for Mashiro is to decide weather he wants to live out his life as a male or female. This decision is influenced heavily on weather Mashiro wants to date a promiscuous male, Sou Mizuhashi or Kureha Fujishima, a female who has a strong distrust of men due to her past.

Throughout the series, the reader also gets to see a lot of issues that other characters are dealing with as well as well as getting to find out if each character graduates by finding their true selves.

I really should go back and read it some time. I really did enjoy it. The only reason I would’ve been embarrassed to tell anyone back when i actually read it was that I lived in a very small town so it would have been blown out of proportion. People would’ve said I was reading ‘porn’ and stuff like that and it just wasn’t worth the hassle.

It is a great manga and I would highly recommend it to anyone that’s interested in this sort of genre!

Is there an anime or manga that you’re embarrassed that you enjoyed? You don’t have to let me know which ones, but I’d be interested to see how many yes’ and no’s there would be! :3 Let me know here or on facebook! Thanks for reading!

Favorite Female Character

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 4 of the anime challenge! Today’s topic is: Favorite Female Character!

This one is easy for me. I mean there are SO MANY wonderful female anime characters out there to choose from and I have many favorites. But there is one girl who holds my heart.

Akemi Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica is my absolute favorite anime girl ever. She’s gorgeous, elegant (or clumsy depending on which timeline), and she’s a true friend.

——————————————————————————–

A lot of people hate on Homura so hard because of what happens to her but I see it from the other stand point. She basically gave up her entire life and soul in order to try to protect her best friend dying. That to me is the ultimate sacrifice.

Rebellion makes her out to be the villain but it’s not her fault in any way. I mean, yes, she made the wish to repeat time until she could save Madoka but she had no idea it would turn out the way it did and that the same thing would happen every single time.

Unfortunately, she really got stuck with a ‘die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain’ situation. 🙁

To me, that makes her best girl and top tier waifu material. I honestly could go on and on about Homura but I think I’ll leave it at that since I’ve already given her a nice Waifu Wednesday post. 🙂

Favorite Male Character

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 3 of the anime challenge! Today’s topic is: Favorite Male Character!

This one is actually really difficult for me because I don’t really relate to any of the male characters or have never found any of them interesting enough to go out of my way to talk about.

The hardest part about these challenges though is that when I find them, they don’t come with any rules? Do traps even count!?

Okay, so I would say my favorite male anime character is one that’s not in high school like a good amount of anime characters out there. He’s actually a father, though he may not look like it. It’s Furukawa Akio from Clannad!

Akio is so many things. He’s energetic, a loving husband and father, encouraging, funny, a great baker, an actor and much more.

He did everything to encourage Nagisa to pursue her dreams.

However, not only did he encourage his daughter to pursue her dreams, he was also there as a father figure to Fuuko, Tomoya and Ushio.

The relationship he has with his wife, Sanae,  is just amazing as well. They get along so well and are just so adorable to watch. He is willing to eat her bread no matter how horrible it tastes just to show his love for her.

And of course, who could ever forget, he’s the MC Akio!

Favorite Anime So Far

Hi, hi! Welcome to day 2 of the anime challenge! Today’s topic is: Favorite Anime So Far!

This is a really, really tough one. I always have a difficult time picking favorites because there are different things that I like about each show or genre that really aren’t comparable to each other.

I suppose if I have to pick just one for the sake of this post, I’ll go with Toradora.

I absolutely love slice of life style anime so this one was not hard at all for me to get into once I started watching it.

This anime had so much character development and so much emotion running from some of the characters that made it easy to connect with them and to grow to love or hate them . There is a good amount of humor in it as well which was great. The anime balanced the humor well with everything else that went on throughout the show.

I really enjoyed most of the characters as well. They all had their own personalities that were all completely different but went together well with the personalities of their friends. It was also nice to see an anime in which characters started out as enemies so to speak that were able to become closer as the anime progressed.

I’d say that this anime also produced 2 of my favorite anime characters of all time.

I really grew to love Aisaka Taiga because she actually reminds me a bit of myself with her ‘tsundere’ attitude. I remember when I was younger being comparable to a tsundere because I didn’t know how to express my emotions well or how to take compliments. Because of this, I was easily able to relate to Taiga and to sympathize with her as well.

My other favorite character would be Kushieda Minori. I absolutely love her perky personality as well as her love and dedication to her best friend, Taiga. She would and does do anything for Taiga.

I love her personality because I wish I was as perky and motivated as her. In all honesty, I’m kind of lazy! But I can absolutely relate to her in the way she would do anything for Taiga. I would do anything for my best friend as well!

The story and art for this anime are fantastic as well. I feel that the story was very well done  and not rushed at all like a lot of other shows out there. I feel like it was given an appropriate amount of time to come to completion.

I do feel like the end of it could have been expanded on a bit more or that they could have shown a bit more in the ending credits or in a special epilogue episode or something. That also leaves a lot for the imagination though, I suppose.

The last thing about this anime that I’d like to talk about is one of my all time favorite anime songs came from Toradora! It’s a Christmas song but I love it so much that it’s actually my ringtone all year round. (It also gives me a good excuse to watch it every winter!)

What is your all time favorite anime? Let me know here or on Facebook! Thanks for reading!

First Anime I Ever Watched

Hi, hi! I decided it would be fun to do a 30 day anime challenge! I’ll be answering these questions:

The very first anime that I saw was Sailor Moon!

**This post may contain affiliate links. You can find the disclosure policy here.**

I don’t exactly remember the very first time that I saw it but I do remember always talking about it to my friends, making sure to watch it with every opportunity I had, wanting to be Sailor Moon EVERY Halloween, begging my mom to drive an hour to the next city every time I had money to buy the dolls from KB Toys and snatching up the one Sailor Moon book that managed to show up at our school book giveaway. (I actually still have this book xD )

Sailor Moon is still an anime I love and will watch over and over again. There’s so much to it. Throughout the seasons, and even the movies, there is so much character development. I laughed with the characters and I cried with them. I even looked up to them as I didn’t have any role models in the real world.

I always loved the art style as well. I will say I’m not a huge fan of the new art style for Sailor Moon Crystal. I think it’s beautiful in itself but in all honesty, I think it’s a bit too elegant for Usagi’s clumsy nature.

What was the first anime you ever watched? Let me know here or on Facebook!
